Originally the old cow shed, the dining room now has a huge oak 14-seat dining table at which guests can fuel up at breakfast time and indulge themselves on an evening.

The chalet ground floor & outside

A roaring fire

Dining room

Window seats, original beams, low ceilings, pine floors and candlelight all add to the ambience. Segregated from the sitting room by removable railings (they once kept the cows segregated from the farmers!) you can dine in full view of the open fire in the adjoining sitting room. Patio doors lead to a terrace overlooking the mountains and Swiss Border.

Sitting room

With its original log burning open fire, traditional Mantel & reading nook, stone flag floors, grandfather clock, book shelves and nooks & crannies, our guests regularly vote this one of the prettiest and most atmospheric alpine rooms they've seen. We've added comfy sofas, TV and library to ensure it's also very comfortable!

Snug

Neatly tucked away on the ground floor is the cosy 'snug' which was originally the Farmholders bedroom. As it faces the open plan kitchen, we often serve children's dinner in here so they can dine under supervision while their parents relax elsewhere in the chalet. It also makes a great place for a late-night card school!

Kitchen

Open plan at one end (so you can see how your dinner is looking!) we've kept many original features to ensure that 'the heart of the chalet' keeps its 'chalet/farmhouse' feel of old by employing a local Artisan carpenter to re-use and renovate many of its original cupboard doors, tiles and 'trinkets'.

Boot Room/Drying Room

Leading off the hallway, this room houses the large boiler for the heating system so it is an ideal area to dry wet clothes, keep ski boots etc.

Garden

Our very private Garden is large enough for a family of snowmen or an igloo building competition. The field adjoining (and overlooked from our patio) is ideal for tobogganing & sledging.
