Originally the old cow shed, the dining room now has a huge oak 14-seat dining table at which guests can fuel up at breakfast time and indulge themselves on an evening.

The chalet ground floor & outside

The window seat

Dining room

Window seats, original beams, low ceilings, pine floors and candlelight all add to the ambience. Patio doors lead to a terrace overlooking the mountains, beyond which lay Switzerland.

Sitting room

With its very unusual log burning open fire with traditional Mantel & reading nook, worn alpine stone floors, grandfather clock, book shelves & nooks and crannies, our guests regularly vote this one of the prettiest and most atmospheric alpine rooms they've seen. We've added comfy sofas, TV/Video and library to ensure it's also very comfortable!

Snug

Neatly tucked away on the ground floor is the cosy 'snug' with traditional alpine 'informal dining/breakfast table' and seating. As it faces the open plan kitchen, we often serve children's dinner in here so they can dine under supervision while their parents relax elsewhere in the chalet. It also makes a great after-dinner card table!

Kitchen

Open plan at one end (so you can see how your dinner is looking!) we've kept many original features to ensure that 'the heart of the chalet' keeps its 'chalet/farmhouse' feel of old by employing a local Artisan carpenter to re-use and renovate many of its original cupboard doors, tiles and 'trinkets'.

Boot Room/Drying Room

Leading off the hallway, this room houses the large boiler for the heating system so it is an ideal area to dry wet clothes, keep boots etc. You'll also find a washing machine in here for those who get a little dirtier than expected!

Garden

Throw open the patio doors and you're on the balcony and into our lovely alpine garden overlooking the beautiful Vallee de la Manche Mountains. It's a mix of very spacious lawn and alpine blooms and if you want to sunbathe or read outside you'll have plenty of space. We also have several outdoor games to keep both the kids & adults entertained.

If the weather permits, we can serve an evening meal or BBQ outside, and outdoor lighting means the night doesn't end when the sun goes down. The garden is a peaceful haven and attracts many birds & wildlife (we have resident red squirrels and occasional Golden eagles to be seen!).
